4K a year PATIENT SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE FRANCISCAN ORTHOPEDIC SURGERY CENTER JOB DESCRIPTION The Patient Service Representative is responsible for providing exceptional communication among patients, physicians, and the healthcare team.
This position plays an important role in enhancing the service given at Franciscan Orthopedic Surgery Center by welcoming, helping orient, escorting patients and answering/directing questions to the appropriate team member in accordance with FOSC guidelines.
Key
Responsibilities:
Communication:
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Facilitates communication to ensure a prompt triage throughout the center.
Understands and educates patients on facilitation of care.
Communicates with the center's team to keep patients, family, and visitors updated on status of surgery.
Fields patient/visitor concerns.
Patient Reception:
Greet patients, family, and visitors upon arrival while providing a warm and welcoming environment.
Communication Liaison:
Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, family, visitors, health care providers.
Addresses inquiries, concerns, and request promptly and professionally.
Patient comfort:
Ensure patients, family members, and visitors are comfortable while waiting, provide support and reassurance.
Compliance:
Adhere to all HIPAA and FOSC regulations and privacy standards to safeguard patient confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
Teamwork:
Assists with various other duties, including assisting patients with wheelchairs or other restrictions as needed, cleaning and maintaining a professional appearance of various center areas, distributing office supply orders to the team.
Ability to work independently with self-direction.
Must demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills, particularly in managing the patient and surgery schedules.
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED One year of healthcare experience.
Knowledge of procedures and protocols necessary to provide patient safety.
Understanding of common medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.
Flexibility in staffing and adaptability to changes in patient care practice.
High attention to detail with strong organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to display empathy while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to demonstrate tact and understanding when dealing with others and responds in a positive manner to constructive criticism.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications Preferred High School Diploma/GED 1 year Prior experience in a healthcare related field Preferred Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association Job Type:
