Responsibilities:
-Experienced technicians and assistants will be able to use their full knowledge set to assist in the care of the pets and the education of the clients in a Fear Free environment.
People new to the profession will have the opportunity to start from the ground up and have on the job training.
- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals - Perform various laboratory tests and procedures - Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians - Monitor and record vital signs of animals - Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures - Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery - Educate pet owners on proper animal care and treatment - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the veterinary clinic Skills:
- Veterinary critical care:
Ability to provide emergency medical care to animals in critical condition - Equine:
Knowledge and experience in handling and caring for horses - Aseptic technique:
Proficiency in maintaining a sterile environment during surgical procedures - Pet care:
Understanding of proper pet handling, feeding, grooming, and exercise techniques - Dog training:
Ability to train dogs in basic obedience commands and behavior modification techniques - Animal care:
Knowledge of animal behavior, nutrition, and general health care practices - Veterinary terminology:
Familiarity with medical terms used in veterinary medicine - Veterinary technician:
Proficient in performing various veterinary procedures under the supervision of a veterinarian - Pet grooming:
Experience in grooming pets, including bathing, brushing, and nail trimming - Laboratory:
Ability to perform laboratory tests, analyze samples, and maintain accurate records Note:
