The Sr. Tax Accountant is responsible for supporting the tax function in a variety of federal, state and local, and international tax areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
o Preparation of domestic income tax provisions under ASC740.
o Preparation and/or review of federal, state and local income tax returns and estimated tax payments.
o Preparation of various international tax compliance items such as 5471s, 8858s, etc.
o Preparation and/or review of cash tax payment requests.
o Preparation and/or review of various other filings such as business licenses, annual reports, property tax, sales & use tax, as needed.
o Gather information and prepare responses to tax notices as received.
o Preparation and/or review of monthly and/or quarterly account reconciliations related to tax accounts.
o Gather information for Federal, state, and local audits as they arise, including assimilating responses to IDR's (Information Document Requests).
o Advise business units and other corporate functions on tax matters and policy as needed.
o Perform with due diligence, tax research, and integration support for acquisitions.
o Work with tax and accounting colleagues, outside consultants, and auditors to support projects.
o Actively train junior staff/interns.
o Research and resolve various tax inquiries as needed.
o Identify, research, scope, analyze, and implement tax planning ideas with respect to tax return filing positions, and departmental policies and procedures.
o Complete and/or assist with other ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed.
o Other duties may be assigned.
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in Accounting required
Three to five years of related tax experience in a large corporate tax environment and/or equivalent public accounting role with experience in tax accounting; federal, state and local, and international income taxes
CPA Preferred but not required
Required: Basic Microsoft Office; tax compliance and provision software such as OneSource/TaxStream, or CorpTax; tax fixed asset software such as BNA or Sage; and tax research software such as CCH, BNA or RIA
Preferred but not required: Hyperion and GL experience such as Oracle, Microsoft, etc.
Must be able to efficiently manage project workloads from multiple sources.
Must have strong analytical skills.
Must have strong organizational skills.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
